History of bird sanctuary
Early in the 20th century, as awareness of the need to conserve wildlife and natural ecosystems grew, India began to establish bird sanctuaries.1950s–1980s: To save migrating birds and their habitats, several bird sanctuaries were established throughout India. Since wetlands, lakes, and coastal regions are essential for bird migration, many of these sanctuaries were situated there.
